What to Expect

Our Sunday morning worship services are shaped around the preaching and reading of the Bible. Every service focuses on a specific Bible passage that provides the theme for the day’s sermon, music, prayers and readings. At First Church we worship in a “liturgical” style, which means every service includes elements that represent God’s words for us and our response to God. Our worship services are highly interactive, with classic hymns, contemporary songs, responsive readings and prayers, and a message that relates the timeless truths of Scripture to the challenges of every day.

Our worship services include elements that are accessible to participants of all ages. If you have younger children, we provide up-to-date, well-staffed nursery facilities, as well as a concurrent worship service for young children (Young Children in Worship).

Accessibility is a priority for our worshiping community. All of our worship materials are digitally projected to make it easier for visitors to participate. We provide large-print copies of our materials for those with visual impairment. In addition, our facilities are fully wheelchair accessible. We warmly welcome all visitors into the worship life of our congregation.

Personal interaction and relationship building are an important part of Sunday morning gatherings at First Church. We enjoy a coffee hour following every worship service, and invite you to join us, ask questions about our programs and services, and get to know our community.
